Iran possesses considerable natural and geographical potential for the development of solar and wind energy, and the government has introduced plans to add significant generation capacity. Official reports and announcements indicate national plans to add several thousand megawatts of solar power capacity by early 2026. Meanwhile, major Chinese companies operating across the solar panel, inverter, and battery manufacturing value chains possess extensive industrial experience and substantial production capacity.
Combining these capabilities creates a unique opportunity for joint investment. On the one hand, large-scale power plant projects—including facilities with capacities of several hundred megawatts—can be implemented under EPC or BOO models. On the other hand, manufacturing plants for components and solar panels can be established in special economic zones to supply the domestic market and support exports.
